I haven't finished any projects lately which is why I haven't posted since August. Yikes! Don't worry I've neglected my other blog too. Here are a couple of projects that I have finished recently.
A couple of months ago we had a bridal shower at work for one of our staff and this is the card I made her. The polka dot paper, ribbon, and stamps came from Hobby Lobby and the teal card stock is Stampin Up. I embossed the stamps in metallic silver.
Back in February when I hosted a baby shower for my BFF she received a gift that was inside these decorative boxes. When we were cleaning up she started to throw them away! What?! So of course I took them, knowing I could find something to do with them. I decided to make coordinating cards so I can use these as gift boxes for birthdays. Here are the boxes and the cards I made for each. There is also matching ribbon for each box to tie it closed.
The big project that I have been working on is pulling together all of my pictures and 'keepsakes' then organizing them so that I can make scrapbooks or shadowboxes. I'm tired of storing this stuff in boxes, taking up room in my garage and closets, when it could be in scrapbooks or hung on a wall in my house to actually look at and enjoy. I've scanned a lot of stuff that I'd like to keep but don't necessarily want to put in a scrapbook so that I can throw some of it away. Here are a couple of shadowboxes I've done.
This one is of some keepsakes from my high school drill team days. I also have a large scrapbook with more. And yes, that is a real tiger that I'm sitting next to in the photo.
With this one it finally hit me what to do with all of my tassels...yes, I have four. Shadowbox!!!! So simple, yet so cool.
Tonight I'm going over to a friends for crafting with the girls! I'll finally start on my Christmas cards.

Dad's bday
Graduations galore
This weekend I have 2 of my grad student assistants graduating with their Masters in Counseling, and a co-worker is graduating with his Master of Library Science. Congrats to all the 2010 grads!
The stamp came from Hobby Lobby but the rest of the card ingredients (i.e. paper, ink, ribbon) are from Stampin Up.

Baby Shower Projects
For the last month and a half my weekends have been dedicated to projects for my BFF's baby shower which I co-hosted last weekend. I modeled the invitation after a design I found on the Splitcoast Stampers gallery. Rather than a folded card, I designed the invitations as a quarter-sheet post card with the invite printed in dark brown and pink ink, on Very Vanilla card stock and adhered to the back. Invitation ingredients: Stampin Up Teddy & Train stamp set; SU Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Very Vanilla card stock; SU Chocolate Chip ink pad and Pretty in Pink writer; SU 1-1/4" Chocolate Chip striped grosgrain ribbon.
To display the favors, I found pink and brown patterned fabric and sewed together a liner for a basket I already had.
The thank you cards are folded cards that coordinate with the invitations using the same SU materials with the addition of using the Modern Label and Eyelet Border punches.
The favors continue with the SU colors and feature the rattle from the Teddy & Train stamp set. I found the clear plastic favor/candy boxes at a stamp convention but you can order them online from lots of companies.

Then came the 12 x 12 scrapbook.
I was really happy with how everything came out and most importantly so were the mom and dad to be. I had a lot of fun designing and creating all of these projects but I'm ready for a little break.
